By using The Tradie List, you agree to our Terms & Conditions that ensure transparency, trust, and a safe experience for both tradies and homeowners.

1. Introduction

These Employer Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to all customers, homeowners, or businesses (“Customer”, “you”, or “your”) who use The Tradie List (“we”, “our”, or “the Platform”) to find and connect with verified trade professionals (“Tradies”). By using the Platform, submitting a job request, or communicating with a Tradie through our system, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
The Tradie List provides an online marketplace that helps users locate qualified service providers but does not directly employ or endorse any tradie listed on the Platform. All services are provided by independent tradies who operate their own businesses. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should refrain from using the Platform. These Terms operate in conjunction with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which together outline your rights and responsibilities while using our website.

2. Account Registration and Eligibility

Customers can browse tradies on The Tradie List without creating an account. However, registration is required to post a job, request quotes, or save favourite tradies. When creating an account, you must provide accurate, up-to-date information, including your full name, contact details, and valid email address.
You agree to keep your login credentials secure and to be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access or a security breach, you must notify us immediately via our Contact Page.
The Tradie List reserves the right to approve, restrict, or terminate customer accounts at any time if we believe our Terms have been breached or fraudulent behaviour has occurred.

3. Use of the Platform

As a Customer, you agree to use The Tradie List solely for the purpose of finding, contacting, and hiring trade professionals in good faith. The Platform facilitates introductions between Customers and Tradies, but The Tradie List is not a party to any agreement, contract, or transaction made between them.
You must not misuse the Platform by posting false or misleading job requests, sharing inappropriate content, or using it to send spam or unsolicited promotions. Any form of abuse, discrimination, or harassment toward Tradies, staff, or other users is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate suspension.
While we aim to maintain a secure and professional environment, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or quality of every tradie listed. It is your responsibility to conduct your own due diligence before engaging a service provider.

4. Posting Jobs and Requesting Quotes

Customers can post job listings through the Job Submission Page by providing a clear description of the work required, the location, and any relevant details. Tradies may respond with quotes or follow-up questions. You are responsible for ensuring that all information in your job request is accurate and not misleading.
Once you receive a quote from a tradie, you are free to negotiate terms directly with them. The Tradie List does not control pricing, availability, or scheduling between users. We do not guarantee that every job request will receive responses, nor do we promise that a specific tradie will accept your job.
By submitting a job request, you authorise The Tradie List to share the information you provide (such as your job description and contact details) with relevant tradies for the purpose of facilitating your request.

5. Quotes, Pricing, and Payments

All quotes, fees, and payment arrangements are agreed upon directly between the Customer and the Tradie. The Tradie List does not process, hold, or transfer payments between parties unless otherwise stated in a specific feature or service.
We recommend that all payments be made through secure and traceable methods. You are responsible for confirming the details of each quote — including scope, timing, and total cost — before agreeing to proceed.
The Tradie List bears no responsibility for disputes arising from pricing, job performance, cancellations, or payment issues. We encourage both parties to keep written records and receipts for transparency and protection.
In some cases, The Tradie List may offer premium or featured tradie listings, which are clearly marked as promotional placements and do not imply endorsement or guarantee of service quality.

6. Reviews and Feedback

After a job has been completed, Customers are encouraged to leave a review about their experience with the Tradie. Reviews help maintain transparency and assist future users in choosing reputable professionals. You agree to post honest and fair feedback based solely on your personal experience.
Defamatory, abusive, or misleading reviews are not permitted. The Tradie List reserves the right to remove, moderate, or edit reviews that violate these Terms or contain inappropriate language, false information, or personal attacks.
By submitting a review, you grant The Tradie List a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute your feedback on the Platform, in marketing materials, and on third-party platforms for promotional purposes. If you believe a review has been unfairly posted about your account or business, you may contact our support team for assistance.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree to use The Tradie List responsibly and refrain from any activity that could harm other users, tradies, or the integrity of the Platform. The following actions are strictly prohibited:

  • Submitting false or fraudulent job requests;

  • Misusing contact information or sending unsolicited messages to tradies;

  • Posting spam, offensive, or discriminatory content;

  • Sharing another user’s private data without consent;

  • Attempting to circumvent The Tradie List’s systems or payment structure;

  • Using the Platform for any illegal or unauthorised purpose.

If you engage in prohibited behaviour, The Tradie List reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account and, if necessary, report your activity to relevant authorities. We also reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or is deemed harmful to our community.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Tradie List is an online directory and lead-generation platform that connects Customers and Tradies. We do not employ, manage, or supervise any Tradie listed on the Platform and cannot guarantee the outcome, quality, or timeliness of any job. Any agreement or transaction entered into between you and a Tradie is done at your own risk.
We make every effort to verify the information provided by Tradies but do not warrant that all listings are accurate, current, or error-free. You are encouraged to verify a Tradie’s licence, insurance, and qualifications before hiring.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Tradie List and its affiliates are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the Platform, reliance on its content, or dealings with any Tradie. Our total liability to you for any claim, whether in contract or tort, shall not exceed the amount you paid (if any) to use our services.

9. Privacy and Data Use

The Tradie List respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. By using our Platform, you consent to the collection, storage, and use of your information as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
When you submit a job or quote request, your details may be shared with relevant Tradies for the purpose of fulfilling your request. We will never sell or share your data with unauthorised third parties.
You agree to handle any information obtained from Tradies — including names, phone numbers, and emails — responsibly and only for legitimate job-related purposes. Any misuse of data, including unsolicited marketing, will be treated as a serious breach of these Terms.

10. Termination and Account Removal

You may close your account at any time by contacting our support team or through your user dashboard. The Tradie List also reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently remove your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms or engage in inappropriate conduct.
If your account is terminated, any outstanding disputes, reviews, or job requests may be deleted, and your access to the Platform will be revoked. We may retain limited information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including fraud prevention and dispute resolution.

11. Dispute Resolution

If a disagreement arises between you and a Tradie, both parties are encouraged to communicate directly and attempt to resolve the issue in good faith. The Tradie List is not a contracting party and does not mediate, enforce, or guarantee outcomes of any arrangement made between users.
Where communication fails, you may contact our support team via the Contact Page for limited guidance or escalation. We may, at our discretion, review basic information to assist both sides, but we are not responsible for arbitration or financial settlement.
For serious disputes relating to professional conduct, safety, or fraud, we recommend lodging a complaint with your local fair-trading or consumer-protection authority. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that The Tradie List’s role is limited to facilitating introductions, not resolving service disputes.

12. Updates to Terms

The Tradie List may revise these Employer Terms at any time to reflect updates in our services, legal obligations, or business policies. Any significant changes will be published on our website, and where appropriate, we will notify registered users by email or dashboard notice.
You are responsible for reviewing these Terms regularly to stay informed of any updates. Continued use of the Platform after revised Terms have been posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you disagree with an update, you must discontinue using the Platform and may request that your account be deactivated.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and any disputes arising from your use of The Tradie List are governed by the laws of Australia. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Headings are included for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
