Trust & Safety

How Tradielist helps Australian homeowners and tradies work together with clearer expectations, verification signals, and practical safety guidance.

Last updated: 3 August 2026

Trust sits at the centre of every home service booking. This page explains the standards we set on Tradielist, what verification means on our Platform, and how to stay safe when arranging work at your property.

Tradielist connects people with independent tradies. We invest in tools and processes that promote safer outcomes, but we do not personally supervise every job. Always use your judgement and confirm licences and insurance before work begins.

1. Our commitment

  • Promote verified, identifiable tradie profiles where possible.
  • Provide clear channels for reporting concerns about users or content.
  • Take action on accounts that breach our Terms of Service or create unreasonable risk.
  • Protect personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.

2. What “verified” means

Where a tradie profile shows a verified badge or similar signal, it indicates that we have completed one or more checks available in our workflow at that time (for example, identity, licence documentation, or admin review). Verification:

  • Is not a guarantee of workmanship, punctuality, or future compliance.
  • Does not replace your own due diligence for high-value or high-risk jobs.
  • May be revoked if information becomes outdated or a serious concern arises.

3. Guidance for homeowners

Before you book

  • Read the tradie’s profile, trade category, location, ratings, and reviews.
  • Ask for current licence numbers and certificates of currency for insurance where the job requires them.
  • Agree the scope, inclusions, exclusions, materials, and price (or rate) in writing via Platform messaging where possible.
  • Be cautious of pressure to move all communication or payment off-platform before you are comfortable.

On the day

  • Confirm the tradie’s identity when they arrive.
  • Secure valuables and pets; provide safe access and disclose known hazards (asbestos risk, electrical issues, incomplete renovations).
  • For larger projects, consider staged payments tied to milestones rather than full prepayment.

After the job

  • Inspect the work before final payment where reasonable.
  • Leave an honest review so other Australians benefit from your experience.
  • Report unresolved safety issues or suspected fraud to us promptly.

4. Guidance for tradies

  • Keep licences, tickets, and insurance current and upload accurate documents when requested.
  • Only accept jobs within your licensed scope and capability.
  • Arrive as agreed, communicate delays, and follow WHS practices on every site.
  • Treat homeowners and their property with respect; do not use Platform contacts for spam or harassment.
  • Never ask homeowners to bypass safety-critical steps (for example, illegal electrical or gas work).

5. Reviews and ratings

Reviews help the community make informed choices. We expect reviews to be factual and based on real jobs. Fake, retaliatory, or discriminatory reviews may be removed, and repeat offenders may lose Platform access.

6. Reporting a concern

Please report:

  • Suspected scam or phishing activity.
  • Harassment, threats, or discrimination.
  • Misleading profiles, fake licences, or manipulated reviews.
  • Unsafe work practices observed through Platform interactions.

Email support@tradielist.com.au with the relevant user names, booking references, screenshots, and a short description. We review reports in good faith and may request more information. Outcomes can include warnings, content removal, suspension, or permanent bans.

7. Emergencies

If someone is in immediate danger, call 000 (Australia). For gas, electricity, or structural emergencies, contact the appropriate emergency or utility service in your state or territory before relying on marketplace messaging.

8. Continuous improvement

We refine verification, moderation, and reporting tools as the Platform grows. Standards on this page may be updated; check the “Last updated” date when you revisit.
